We’re excited to announce that Aeternum will be performing and recording Eric Whitacre’s “Her Sacred Spirit Soars.” Written for double choir, the piece draws on a text by Charles Anthony Silvestri shaped around a Shakespearean sonnet, with a connection to the Renaissance tradition of honoring Elizabeth I. It’s a fascinating work to spend time with, both historically and musically. What stands out most to us is the atmosphere of the piece: expansive, suspended, and constantly unfolding. It asks for clarity, control, and a real sense of ensemble, and we’re excited to bring that into both performance and recording. Tickets are available at the link in our bio!
